The biggest mistake some people make is coming here to escape the harshest city life and look for normalcy. Unless horribly different is the new normal, they're looking in all the wrong places. The Peters family doesn't even appear picture-perfect on the outside. Katherine and Johnathan are constantly bickering in public, and when Evelyn is with her parents, she doesn't bother trying to hide her total disdain for them, nor does she miss out on the chance to tell them how much they're embarrassing her or how much they suck. They're an upper middle class family who have been living in Crescent Hill for several years.
Katherine and Johnathan are in the middle of deciding whether or not they want a divorce, and their daughter Evelyn is deciding whether or not she wants to keep living with her parents. She's seventeen and of the age to live by herself (with a roommate, of course). She's tired of living under her parents' roof and having to take their crap. Evelyn doesn't even care if they get divorced at this point; she suggested that they should years ago.

Ophelia Lyle and Trevor Horn have been together for almost two years, and Trevor just recently proposed. Ophelia accepted his proposal, and the two are set to get married in four months. But a month or so before Trevor proposed, Ophelia got involved in a heated affair with Trevor's best friend, Charlie Ashley. Charlie was the kind of guy that Ophelia always wanted to be with - charming, funny, handsome and overall, he just fitted with her. Ophelia did love Trevor, but more in the best friends way, as that was what they'd been before Trevor asked Ophelia out those two years ago.
Trevor and Ophelia have been through some tough times, but Ophelia thinks that Charlie understands her better than Trevor does. She wants to be with the both of them - she wants to stay with Trevor because she doesn't want to break his heart or end his valued friendship with Charlie, and she wants to be with Charlie because she loves him and they click - but Ophelia doesn't know who to go with. Trevor's been extremely pressuring about the wedding, always making calls to this person and organizing this. He's more excited about it than Ophelia is! Charlie told Ophelia that it was her choice and that he'd keep his distance until she figured out what she wanted from him, but that's not what Ophelia wants.
